Daily Donation

Pledge to give $1 a day (or more) to ELCA World Hunger for the 40 days of Lent.

Of course, you don’t have to donate every day. One donation per person, or per family, or per congregation during Lent is fine. We’re suggesting a minimum or $50 in support of ELCA World Hunger.

Remember, we’re counting individual participation, so the more people signed up per synod, the better. The total donation amount for ELCA World Hunger per synod is not the criterion we’ll use for determining the winner.

Why ELCA World Hunger?

The 40-40-40 Region 2 Lenten Challenge for 2026 supports ELCA World Hunger. Your gifts help our church respond to hunger and poverty through hundreds of projects in more than 60 countries around the world, including the United States. These gifts are brought together with the skills, capacity and resources of local communities to make transformative change.

Matthew 25 emphasizes that caring for the poor, sick and marginalized is an act of service to Christ. We are called by God to care for our neighbors, and ELCA World Hunger is one of the ways our church answers that call. From health clinics to microloans, water wells to farm animals, community meals to advocacy, your gifts to ELCA World Hunger support sustainable solutions that get at the root causes of hunger and poverty.

Together, we can build a just world where all are fed.
