  • Learn the names of your legislators and write a letter to them about water

  • Pray for communities without clean water while brushing teeth.

  • Shorten showers during Lent.

  • Clean up your local watershed

  • Conserve water

  • Subscribe to news and alerts from your ELCA State Public Policy Office (SPPO)

  • Install storage tanks for water runoff during storms to be used for later irrigation/watering.

Congregations

  • Install water-saving fixtures.

  • Teach about baptism and living water.

  • Eliminate single-use water bottles, incorporate refillable water bottles

  • Read the ELCA social statement Caring for Creation: Vision, Hope and Justice

  • Incorporate elements of the ELCA World Hunger Vacation Bible School study, River of Life, focusing on the importance of Water
